Rusconi’s American Kitchen
We decided to celebrate our 10th Anniversary dinner at Rusconi’s American Kitchen based on recommendations we had received from our instagram followers. Rusconi’s American Kitchen did not disappoint. It was honestly the best customer service we have ever received at a restaurant. They are located at Tatum and Shea boulevards in Phoenix and Chef Michael Rusconi has been serving at this location since 2012. Chef Michaels food philosophy is, “Buy the best ingredients, treat them with love and respect and then apply proper technique. Only by doing that will you be able to deliver the best quality possible.” We can attest that they live up their philosophy and they don’t just talk the talk, they really walk the walk.
Eric made a reservation in advance and let them know that we didn’t drink, we were celebrating our anniversary and it was our first time eating there. I don’t feel like a lot of restaurants read the notes you add but the Rusconi’s staff did. When we arrived they took us back to our table and and a happy anniversary card was was waiting at our table and it had been signed by the whole staff.
Our waiter also greated us with a Happy Anniversary and brought us a drink Menu but said “I know that you guys don’t drink but our menu has some good mocktails for you to check out” which made us feel special because they acknowledged our comments about drinking and gave us alternative solutions right away. It also was super nice for us because we didn’t have to sit and listen to a whole speech about drinks we don’t care about and it also didn’t waste the waiters time.
One of the other great things that happened is the Chef came over and greeted us, thanked us for coming in and gave us a little appetizer plate on the house for our first visit. It was a super kind gesture and so great to meet the mastermind behind the restaurant.
I loved the plating of everything.
What we ordered:
Sparkling Prickly Pear Lemonade
Tender pork belly pickled blackberries, polenta, apples
Stake Special
Roasted pork tenderloin blackberry balsamic glaze, warm fingerlingpotato salad, danish blue cheese, green beans (Our favorite thing we ordered)
Snickerdoodle Ice Cream and Raspberry Sorbet.
One of the things that impressed me most about Rusconi’s is the phone call that Eric received the next day from the staff thanking us for coming in and telling us that they hoped we had a great anniversary. We would definitely go back, but next time get the Truffle Mac and Cheese and one of their bread puddings since those are some of the things they are known for.
